York, Maine~ Dockside Seafood Brewfest is scheduled for Thursday, July 19, 2018

Hosted by Dockside Guest Quarters & Restaurant located at 22 Harris Island Road York Maine.  The presenting sponsor of the event is Kittery Trading Post.

The roots of this event started as a one-day fun family fishing tournament in 2007 when Phil Lusty and his brothers, Eric & John, we’re trying to find a way to bring more visitors to their little oasis known as Harris Island in York Harbor Maine.  Over the past 12 years, it has grown dramatically in popularity as a fishing tournament and brewfest showcasing some of the seacoast’s best local breweries, but the charitable fundraising is truly the most meaningful aspect of the weekend. Involved since its inception, Rich Goodenough, Vice President Commercial Lending of Kennebunk Savings, commented “This is such a worthy charitable event. It involves so many of our local businesses which support all our efforts.” In the last 2 years alone, fundraising and sponsorships have exceeded $30,000.00 with another record-setting event projected for 2018.

Early beneficiaries were York Hospital and seacoast area food pantries. For 2018, Northeast Passage will be the primary recipient. “We are proud to have Northeast Passage returning for the fifth year as the beneficiary of this event” reports Dockside Restaurant owner, Phil Lusty.  The mission of Northeast Passage is to create an environment where individuals with disabilities can enjoy recreation with the same freedom of choice, quality of life, and independence as their non-disabled peers.  Northeast Passage is located on campus at UNH and operates on a small budget and large volunteer base from students and support from the local communities.

The 2018 event begins on the picturesque banks of York Harbor Thursday, July 19th,  featuring live music, amazing auction items along with raffles and prize giveaways. There are more than 12 breweries featuring their best craft beers, 5 different seafood purveyors from the seacoast region, a pig roast, plus grilling from local butchers for those looking for delicious surf and turf.
